Quartz included with Hedenbergite

This now famous, but remote Chinese locality has become a prolific producer of fine quality crystallized mineral specimens. This impressive large cabinet display specimen features a remarkable, sharp, lustrous, prismatic, tapered, semi-scepter habit Quartz crystal, plus a few smaller accompanying Quartz crystals at the base which have soft mossy-green hue due to minor Hedenbergite inclusions. If you look at the base of the piece, you'll see that the Quartz is actually quite gemmy and colorless in the center, so the Hedenbergite only penetrated the outer layer of the Quartz. Overall, the piece is in superb condition, as I cannot find any major damage, but there is a TINY nick near the termination of the big Quartz crystal, and it's obviously contacted on the base where it was removed from the pocket wall. If you look closely, you can see there are hundreds if not thousands of tiny faces on all sides of the piece, not big broad prism faces, but a myriad of little modified faces all over. I don't think we've had a Quartz crystal larger than this from Huanggang in the auctions. A wonderful, fine quality, big showy example of this gorgeous material. Priced at $4,500 in the inventory.
