Quartz included with Dumortierite (rare and fine quality)

The combination of Dumortierite and Quartz isn't terribly common in nature, especially with this color. Keep in mind that Rose Quartz crystals actually get their pink color from fibrous Dumortierite inclusions, but the newly mined specimens from the Vaca Morta Quarry in Brazil are completely different. This fantastic thumbnails sized specimen features a sharp, well-formed, lustrous, euhedral, colorless gemmy Quartz crystal with small areas of indigo colored, thin fibrous crystals of Dumortierite either sitting on or slightly below the surface. Some of you might have seen this material in the gem / lapidary trade, and there are broken "chunks" out there on the market, but to find a piece of actual CRYSTALLIZED Quartz with these Dumortierite inclusions is rather rare in my experience. The back of this crystal is contacted, so the piece is not 100% damage, free, but it is very well-crystallized on the front. The combination of the two species together creates a fantastic effect. The alluring color of the Dumortierite makes it all the more appealing, as few minerals have this exact hue. If you collect Quartz or inclusion specimens, this is a great opportunity to pick up a piece of this rarely seen material from Bahia. One of the best crystallized specimens we've had of this material, and certainly rare in the mineral world.
