A colorful, rich and sculptural large old-time combination from the historic and extinct iron mines at Cleator Moor, Cumbria. An impressive large vug is filled with intensely sparkly brick-red, hematite-infused drusy quartz and is dramatically accented with striking larger quartz crystals, to 2.2 cm. The quartz rests on massive barite and the sides and bottom are fantastically accented with scalloped areas of hematite kidney ore. Combination specimens of this large size, combination and style are VERY RARE from here. Old-time material from an East Coast collection and comes with a century-old faded label. An outstanding and rare large old combination from Cleator Moor.
