Item Description

All six sides of the sharply terminated, modified hexagonal quartz crystal reveal the black inclusions of clusters of Boulangerite needles. The inclusions are especially sharp in the three glass-clear termination faces of the gem crystal. The remaining termination and prism faces are frosted with satin lustre. One glass-clear termination face is partially contacted, but there is no damage, per se. The brilliant metallic arsenopyrite crystals and pearlescent muscovite books embedded lower on one side are fines accessories and complments. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only a bit of termination edge rubbing. See the 2011 Mineralogical Record article in China Special Issue III, Vol. 42, No. 6. A fascinating, very shapely and uncommon boulangerite-included quartz crystal from the famed Yaogangxian Mine. MUCH better in person. ex Smale collection (Steve was well known for purchasing huge amounts of good Chinese minerals back in the 90s when the rest of us were only just noticing!)
