Item Description

Herkimer Diamonds are stout, doubly terminated Quartz crystals found in hard dolomite in Herkimer County, New York and were originally discovered in the late 1700s! This Quartz cluster displays super glassy luster and good gemminess for "Herkimers," not to mention its aesthetic composition! There are nine crystal components in this group ranging in size from 1.5 to 5 cm in maximum dimension and all them have perfect points! Most of the crystals are nearly water clear and a few have petroleum inclusions for added interest. There is some internal fracturing in a few of the crystals which is common for these. It sits nicely on its own in a few different orientations. classic, and probably older material
