This bright, doubly-terminated, totally gem "Herkimer diamond" is a full-size thumbnail specimen from the occurrences in upstate New York, and it stands as one of the finest examples of this material. The piece features two perfectly formed, doubly-terminated quartz crystals perched elegantly on a sliver of matrix, which is completely adorned with tiny quartz crystals, creating impeccable balance and composition. Additional small, perfectly formed quartz crystals are also scattered on the matrix, adding to its complexity and charm.
