A truly beautiful and fine quality large miniature / small cabinet sized specimen of the famous "Herkimer Diamonds" from upstate New York. This dramatic and showy specimen hosts a single, very gemmy, and utterly colorless, doubly-terminated crystal of Quartz with remarkably well-formed, lustrous sharp faces, sitting on bit of matrix. Most of these specimens are repaired, but this one is NOT, which is significant as you don't find many on matrix, let alone un-repaired. A really attractive and special example of these world-famous Quartz specimens. Please note that while the piece is doubly-terminated, the lower termination of the crystal is contacted, so it's not 100% pristine. Still a very showy and fine quality example of these distinctive and iconic specimens. I would value this one around $1,800 retail.
