Item Description
An extraordinary and RARE large old quartz crystal "hedgehog" from this famous deep canyon area in Chihuahua. Mineral specimens of any species are rare from here and well-crystallized quartz is EXTREMELY RARE. Glassy quartz points to over 5.5 cm project out in all directions on this dramatic 360-degree specimen. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 2446 and acquired from Brad van Scriver in May 1962, the year he became a mineral dealer! Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). This outstanding and rare old quartz displays well without aid and every turn presents a different perspective. A MUST for the quartz or locality collector.
