Quartz (GEMMY) (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

Arkansas Quartz is world famous for its tremendous quality. The best of these crystals are some of the finest, largest, GEM quality examples of this abundant species. This piece is a good reference specimen of this famous material featuring a predominant, sharp, lustrous, VERY gemmy, colorless prismatic Quartz crystal with additional Quartz crystals growing on the back. There is some minor chipping, so the piece is not 100% damage free, but it's still a good represenation of this well-known material. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#95). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
