Quartz (GEM) with Hematite inclusion

A beautiful piece of crystallized OPTIC GRADE colorless Quartz which plays host to a sharp, lustrous, metallic, silvery colored hexagonal blade of Hematite. The absolute water clear clarity of the Quartz crystal is superb for the locality, especially in this size, but what makes the piece all the more interesting is that it is devoid of the typically golden Rutile "needle" inclusions. One rarely see isolated, single blades of Hematite like this in Quartz from Novo Horizonte. Now the front side of the piece is in fairly good condition, as it shows sharp, well-formed crystal faces on the Quartz, but the back side is not crystallized and shows slightly convex, semi-radial areas of conchoidal fracture. Hard to photograph and beautiful in person. A great piece for anybody who loves Quartz or inclusion specimens. Priced originally in the inventory at $2,500.
