Item Description

There are truly thousands upon thousands of localities in the world for Quartz. Some of the best Quartz crystals are those from various localities in Garland County, Arkansas, which are regarded among the most impressive specimens ever found, which is saying something for a species that is literally found in almost every rock environment around the world. This miniature sized specimen features excellent, WATER CLEAR, completely colorless, razor-sharp, highly lustrous prismatic crystals of this famed material, forming a showy display specimen. The piece is undamaged, save the base where it detached from the pocket wall. The largest crystal measures 2.7 cm long. Excellent crystal form and superior quality make this a great pickup for any fan of gem crystals, worldwide Quartz or simply high quality specimens. From the collection of Colorado mining legend, Dave Bergman. Dave is now retired, but among other things, he was the foreman and primary person in charge of recovering specimens at the famous Sweet Home Mine near Alma, Colorado during the late 1970s. He is also the maternal grandfather of Brian Kosnar. See Dave's photo mining at the Sweet Home on page 58 of Peter Bancroft's book "Gem and Crystal Treasures".
