Item Description

A fantastic full sized miniature display specimen featuring multiple razor-sharp, lustrous, GEM quality, prismatic, colorless crystals of Quartz measuring up to 4.1 cm long is a beautifully intergrown group. The two key factors to the specimen are the fact that the majority of the Quartz crystals are doubly-terminated, and because of that fact, the piece is a complete "floater" with no point of attachment. The underside shows a small area where the Quartz crystals overgrew the matrix at the core of the piece, so it's crystallized all the way around on every side. This piece comes from the Purple Hope #4 Claim in King County, Washington. The area is well-known for its impressive Pyrite crystals, which are often associated with Quartz, but this particular style of Quartz is not only rare for the area, it's uncommon from almost anywhere. Sure there are plenty of single "floater" Quartz crystals on the market, but to find a multi-crystal "floater" group like this is certainly rare. If you collect Quartz, "floaters" or minerals of the United States, don't miss out on this one as it seems to have been from a very limited find and more may never be discovered.
