Item Description

A beautiful classic piece of the famous Arkansas Quartz specimens, featuring a pair of very sharp, highly lustrous, gemmy, colorless hexagonal prisms, which are both doubly-terminated, and free of matrix. The piece is a "floater", as it's completely crystallized all over. Minor roughness can be seen, but the piece is largely damage-free. This particular piece is labeled as coming from Jessieville (in Garland County), a much rarer locality in terms of available specimens on the market.
From the worldwide mineral collection of Albert Lewis Kidwell (January 1, 1919 - August 16, 2008). Al was a well-known mineral collector and research geologist with Carter Oil Company and later Exxon Oil Company in Houston, Texas. The phosphate species Kidwellite was named in his honor in 1974 ( https://www.mindat.org/photo-326405.html ).
