Item Description

A beautiful specimen of "window" Quartz from the famous Thomas Range in Utah. In Europe, these skeletal Quartz specimens are sometimes called "Fenster" (German word for window), due to the fact that the pyramidal and prism faces have a skeletal form that gives them the appearance of a window. This is one of the very few Quartz crystals with this particular habit that I have seen from this famous Red Beryl producing region. Where there are no inclusions, the Quartz crystals are very gemmy, and have sharp, glassy surfaces all the way around. From the collection of Harold Urish whose label states that it came from Scott Williams in 1990.
