Item Description
This is a very beautiful and unusual Faden Quartz cluster from Pakistan. Some of the most distinctive Quartz specimens found in Alpine deposits are the attractive "Faden" (German word for string) crystal groups like this one., which only occur in a few locations in the world There is a trio of glassy, gem, vertical, parallel growth Quartz crystals accompanied near its base by two other stacked, subparallel groups of Quartz crystals along with several other randomly oriented Quartz crystals. The piece exhibits a pair of Fadens which is unusual because there are actually two "strings" present: one that runs through stacked, parallel group of doubly terminated crystals near the base and then a second that runs through the length of the superb, sharp, highly lustrous, colorless, gemmy trio of parallel growth crystals at an acute angle. This is a beautiful, glassy, sparkling Faden Quartz piece of real character, standing out amidst a crowd of more squat and less sparkling examples.
