Item Description
Despite the prevalence of Quartz in the mineral world, it is almost universally beloved due to the tremendous about of colors, habits, styles and varieties in which it is found. One of the more eye-catching and less commonly seen habits are the famous "Faden" groups that were first made famous from European Alpine deposits and other "Alpine-type" deposits around the world. This attractive small cabinet exhibits several attractive "Fadens" (German word for string) running across and through the superb, sharp, highly lustrous, colorless, GEM quality colorless Quartz crystals creating a showy and three-dimensional piece. Nearly all of the crystals are undamaged, but you can see a few small imperfections here and there. I love how aesthetic it is, as you can display it from several angles. Some crystals are nearly water clear which allows you to look straight through them to see the "Faden" in the center. This quality is certainly equal to the true Alpine "Fadens" from Europe. I have seen these Pakistani pieces dry up in recent years, and I personally think they are highly underappreciated for what they are. Priced at $700 in the inventory.
