Quartz (Faden)

Item Description

Dramatic tower of stacked, double terminated (DT) tabular Quartz crystals with parallel growth. These water-clear crystals with striking chisel tip terminations have a very well-defined faden or "string" running down the center of the crystals. The width of the main crystal is 6.1 cm with the basal diagonal DT measuring 7.3 cm end to end. There is also a small 90 degree "spine-like" growth of Quartz crystals protruding out of the Faden. As well as an additional double terminated crystal at the base that penetrates directly through the main crystal and appears to have the Faden continuing through it. There is a minor contact point and a few nicks in the terminations but not enough to detract from this exceptional Faden Quartz specimen. It is noted that there is a very, very subtle curvature or twist down the axis of the terminations. An exquisite specimen of a gorgeous Faden Quartz. Ex. Kurt Hefendehl Collection.
