Crystallized Quartz is probably found in more places in the world than any other mineral species. We've all seen Quartz crystals, but of the countless thousands of localities for the species around the world, a select few stand out as being the finest sources for the species extant. The famous Quartz crystals from various localities in Garland County, Arkansas are regarded among the most impressive specimens ever found, which is saying something for a species that is literally found in almost every rock environment around the world. Recently The McEarl Ridge Prospect has been producing some truly world-class examples of Quartz with large single crystal of impeccable quality and clarity. There are few places on earth where Quartz is as good as the McEarl specimens as they are not only superb in their form, but their luster and amazingly colorless hue (a sign of chemical purity). This particular piece is a stunning, OPTIC grade, completely colorless, razor-sharp, highly lustrous single crystal of this famed material.
