Item Description

The Idarado mine is most famous for it's Manganoan Calcite specimens, in fact, the largest quantity of the finest quality Manganoan Calcite specimens from Colorado were found in this mine. This specimen is a beautiful display specimen of well-known "milky" Quartz featuring sharp, prismatic, white hexagonal crystals flaring in multiple directions, including one eye-catching doubly-terminated crystal on the back side of the piece. The piece is in great shape overall, with only a small amout of forgiveable damage. The Quartz crystals are translucent when backlit, and the overall aesthetics of the piece make it a very good display specimen of this truly classic San Juan material.
