Quartz (etched crystal) (rare locality specimen)

Item Description

Here's a cool locality specimen for any of you Quartz fans or San Diego County collectors. The piece is labeled as coming from Womack Lane, a small street in the town of Fallbrook, a couple blocks south of East Fallbrook Street. I'm assuming that the crystal might have been found during the excavation / construction of a home, but it's hard to say for certain. There's a typed label from the Bryant Harris collection that says the piece was self-collected in 1996 for reference. The piece is a gemmy, very slightly smoky color prism with notable surface etching, creating an ethereal and eye-catching specimen. The piece is essentially a "floater", as it's crystallized all around, with no real damage or point of attachment that can be seen. A really interesting and esoteric piece from a locality that I'll assume none of you have represented in your collections. The piece comes from the collection of Tim Sherburn, with an additional dealer label from Dave Bunk.
