Quartz encl. Rutile & Hematite (Obodda Coll.)

Item Description

Dramatic sprays of brilliant silver-metallic, wine-red rutile blades, accented with a couple of lustrous, platy hematite "leaves" at the base are festooned in the interior of this striking large water-clear, very glassy, sharply terminated quartz crystal from Diamantina. Complete all-around, the crystal is actually in excellent condition. The tip has a gentle bruise and the back is contacted, with no damage. The broken base is the attachment. Rutilated quartz of this size, richness and quality is very uncommon from here. Older material, probably from the 1970s or 80s. Ex Herb Obodda Collection # 3222.
