Item Description
Arkansas Quartz is world famous for its tremendous quality. This is a beautiful doubly-terminated, GEM quality, colorless crystal of Quartz from Arkansas showing exaggerated "r" faces of the pyramidal terminations, and virtually no prism faces present. The faces are highly lustrous and well-formed. The piece is nearly a complete "floater", but it does have a slight bit of roughness, so it's not 100% crystallized all the way around. VERY hard to photograph, but beautiful in person, and if you collect Quartz and its various habits, this is an unusual example that would make a great addition to your collection. From the worldwide collection of famed Italian mineral collector, field collector and author, Francesco Bedogne of Sondrio, Italy (Collection #124). Bedogne wrote dozens of articles and several books about the mineralogy of Italian Alpine localities such as Val Bregaglia, Val Masino, Val Codera, Val Spluga, Valtellina and the famous Val Malenco. He was also the founder of the Valtellinese Mineralogical Institute.
