Quartz coating Fluorite (ex Kevin Conroy Collection)

Item Description

A beautiful classic display specimen featuring predominantly pyramidal habit Quartz crystals which are coating soft green colored cubic Fluorite crystals and lightly dusted with minor golden metallic Pyrite. The label accompanying the piece says that this is an "epimorph", but it's simply a coating as both species are still present and there is no actual replacement taking place. The largest crystal measures 3.5 cm on edge. No damage of note, and a great display piece of this wonderful old material from Northumberland. Hard to photograph, and better in person.
