Quartz coated by Calcite (fluorescent)

Item Description

A lovely old-time specimen from Concepción del Oro, Mexico featuring several, prismatic Quartz crystals with drusy coating of silvery and off-white colored Calcite. The fronts of the crystals feature the silvery colored Calcite while the off-white colored Calcite mostly covers the backs of the Quartz crystals, and almost looks like they are wearing Calcite "hoodies". No damage on the front/display side of the piece, with only one notable contact on the back. A really interesting piece with good aesthetics/form, and not typically what one expects to see from this area.

Dave is now retired, but among other things, he was the foreman and primary person in charge of recovering specimens at the famous Sweet Home Mine near Alma, Colorado during the late 1970s.
