Item Description
When it comes to Quartz, there is no other locality in the US that rivals the amazing deposits in Arkansas. For quantity and quality, the top Quartz specimens from this area rival the finest colorless Quartzes from just about anywhere else in the world. This piece is a great large cabinet example of this material featuring a large, sharp, predominant, lustrous, gemmy, colorless, hexagonal prism of Quartz with a few accompanying crystals at the base. Good condition all the way around, and except for a slight contact on the back,, and a tiny spot near the tip, the main Quartz crystal is almost totally unblemished. At a full 1,635 grams and nealry 8 inches, the piece is hefty in your hand. Please note, there is a small piece of Quartz that is actually glued to the base of the piece in order to make it display properly. This is not part of the original specimen, but it came out of an old collection, and the previous owner obviously wanted to make it stand up in their case, so they glued the Quartz to the bottom. Valued at $1400 for the size and overall quality. Enjoy!
