Item Description
VERY RARE and showy 360-degree small cabinet cluster of lustrous Chalcedony pseudomorphing a sculptural cluster of sharp, textbook pseudo-hexagonal aragonite crystals. These are from a very obscure locality in West Texas near Big Bend National Park. Nifty accents are wormy gray and green chalcedony and tiny bubbly botryoids on the pinacoidal terminations of the pseudos. Ex George Loud Collection No. 1777, a well-known Washington, DC and South Carolina mineral collector. He acquired the specimen in 1993. See: https://mineralogicalrecord.com/biographies_labels/george-loud for more information on George. We recently acquired most of his impressive over 9000 piece collection. A rare, choice and sculptural example from the locality. SELDOM on the market. A MUST for the pseudomorph, locality or species collector.
