Quartz "casts" after Calcite (ex Brian Kosnar Collection)

An attractive Quartz specimen featuring hollow "casts" of sugary Quartz after Calcite. Virtually damage free on the display side and very three-dimensional. The largest crystal measures 2.3 cm. These "cast" specimens have been called "epimorphs" for years, but they are now correctly identified as being "perimorphs". If you're a Colorado collector, or a Quartz collector, this is a great opportunity to add an attractive display piece from an uncommon locality in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado to your collection.
