Item Description

An attractive Quartz specimen featuring a predominant "cast" of sugary Quartz after Calcite which is aesthetically sitting atop fine, sharp, lustrous, white prisms of Quartz on matrix. Virtually damage free on the display side. It's wonderful to see such a sharp, distinct and attractive "cast" like this. It should be noted, that we have been calling these specimens "epimorphs" for a long time, but techinically speaking, these should be referred to as PERIMORPHS, because an epimorph will have both species present, as opposed to having one completely dissolved. If you're a Colorado collector, or a Quartz collector, this is a great opportunity to add an aesthetic display piece from an uncommon locality in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado to your collection. Collected by Carl Auclair in 2009.
