The pegmatites in Brazil produce a variety of interesting species and many very interesting pieces. This is a very unique Quartz and Lepidolite specimen from Minas Gerais State. It consists of a large, milky, translucent, flattened Quartz crystal to 5.5 cm with another, smaller (2 cm) flattened crystal in parallel growth on a plate pink-lavender, fine-grained Lepidolite. There is a small, prismatic Quartz crystal growing across the face of the larger one as well as a few tiny crystals growing on the faces of both of the flattened crystals. The piece is also augmented by a 5.2 cm long, doubly terminated Quartz crystal that is accompanied by several smaller Quartz crystals. Some tiny Quartz crystals are intermixed with the Lepidolite. An aesthetic and unusual pegmatite combo piece from Brazil!
