Quartz and Hematite "iron roses" (Dr. B. Phillips Coll.)

A dramatic and sculptural large combination specimen from recent finds at the Lechang Mine. Jackstraw clusters of heavily etched glassy quartz crystals are nicely accented with scattered, classic, rust-red hematite "iron roses". The striking large pristine quartz spray with the iron roses below is 8.4 cm across and the long quartz on one side is 6.5 cm. You barely notice scattered bruising to the quartz crytals. One side and the back have been sawed and the piece has two excellent display views. An impressive large combination from the locale. 5.7 pounds or 2.6 kilos mass. Ex Dr. Barratt Phillips Collection.
