Quartz and Hematite

A dramatic large 360-degree combination of intergrown and isolated preferentially hematite-stained quartz crystals very attractively rising above the matrix of densely intergrown aggregates of of platy, black hematite "iron roses" from the artisanal finds at Jinlong Hill. The rust-red hematite terminations really enhance the satin luster, stepped-growth prism faces. The central, dominating large prism is about 6.5 cm long, the striking angled, impaling crystal is 6,7 cm long and isolated upright crystals reach about 4.5 cm tall. The hematite "iron roses" reach 3.5 cm wide. All of the quartz crystals, except for one on the periphery are pristine. Ex Kurt Hefendehl Collection, a well-known German collector who amassed a world-wide collection of over 6000 pieces. Kurt paid 350 Euros for the piece according to his catalogue. Older material from the early to mid-2000s and an excellent combination with strikingly different visual perspectives with every turn.
