Item Description

This is a great combination specimen from the famous old San Antonio Mine in Mexico featuring a large group of gem clear Quartz crystals adorned with a spiky druse of coarse Calcite aesthetically placed on a cluster of large Sphalerite and Pyrite crystals. The Quartz crystals are from 2 to 6 cm in length, lustrous and water-clear - very dramatic! All are terminated except one that is slightly compromised. The white Calcites that embellish the Quartz are preferentially coating only the rear of the Quartz crystals leaving the front view showing off the aesthetic highlighting. The nearly black pair of Sphalerite crystals (var. Marmatite) are big with the largest one in front measuring 4 cm across and they are overgrowing brassy yellow Pyrite crystals as can be seen on the bottom of the piece with only one 1.8 cm crystal peeking out the right side.
