Quartz ("Amethystine") (large stalactite)

Item Description

A really attractive, large, impressive Amethystine color Quartz specimen from Rio Grande do Sul featuring hundreds of very sharp, lustrous, translucent, silvery-purple color "stubby" crystals in a large flowing stalactitic formation. Some of the crystals have notable tiny inclusions of black crystals of an unidentified iron oxide, i.e., Hematite or possibly Goethite or maybe even Lepidocrocite. Great quality all the way around, and certainly beautiful up close. If you're a Quartz collector, I have to think you'd like one of these in your collection. The piece is in really good shape, though it does have small opening on the top where the crystallization was not completed. Obviously it's contacted on the base where it was removed from the pocket wall, but it's still an impressive overall piece and very showy. Valued at $2,200.
