Item Description
An attractive miniature sized specimen from a find circa 2011 at the Marovoalavo Mine in Madagascar featuring a solitary prismatic Quartz crystal with a purple Amethyst hue on the upper portion and featuring a beautiful scepter and "reverse scepter" habit termination with tapering and widening growth. The piece is quite gemmy in the upper portion, and the crystallization is wonderful to view up close. The very tip of the termination has a tiny ding, I had to look at it with a loupe to be sure, but it's not completely undamaged. This style / morphology is not commonly seen in Quartz and these specimens from Madagascar are some of the best examples in the modern era of mineral collecting.
