Item Description

Here we have a great specimen for all you cast collectors out there. This area has produced some excellent Quartz casts from anywhere in the United States. It features small, sugary, white crystals of Quartz which have replaced octahedral Fluorites which in turn have dissolved away, leaving some hollow casts in the form of the original Fluorite octahedrons. There are also casts of Quartz replacing bladed Anhydrite on the specimen as well! You can see that there are areas on the piece that show hollow areas where the original Fluorite no longer remains. This area produces very little in the way of specimens, and it is very difficult to find attractive display pieces such as this on the market. A very worthwhile piece of this classic material from southwestern Colorado.
