A very unusual Quartz piece from the Molas Pass area near Silverton, Colorado. This piece is more complex than it appears at first glance. It looks like a few separate Quartz crystals upon a quick examination, but a more careful assessment shows one skeletal Quartz crystal that has grown out of the inside of another skeletal Quartz crystal and there's multiple terminations on the opposite end! And the skeletal Quartz crystals have smoky edges and terminations! The largest crystal has a turbid, almost milky interior and is distinctly hoppered or skeletal and is terminated around the periphery and surprisingly another skeletal Quartz crystal is growing out the back in almost parallel growth and it too displays a skeletal central area and has a more typical termination. The base of the piece consists of several small Quartz crystals in parallel to subparallel growth and are terminated or at least display etched terminations. A very unique Quartz specimen!
