Item Description

A beautiful, well-placed, 6.2 cm water-clear quartz crystal with a striking sharp asymmetrical termination dramatically accented with gleaming stepped-growth prism dominates this very fine, aesthetic and sculptural small cabinet plate from the well-known Ron Coleman Mine of Arkansas. The dense balanced field of smaller crystals adds real glamour to this piece. Collected by Curtis Hollabaugh in 1985. Ex John Whatley Collection and acquired at a 1991 auction. John was a well-known Georgia collector (1939-2022). He had many interests and hobbies. His favorite hobby was collecting rocks and minerals and he was a member of the Augusta and Aiken, SC Gem and Mineral Society. You can read more about John at: https://www.thomaspoteet.com/obituaries/john-whatley. A classic, well-composed and very fine older Arkansas quartz in this size range.
