Swiss Quartz are a subset of mineral collecting all on their own, with people choosing to collect styles such as gwindels and fadens, localities, sizes, etc. Piz Beverin is a very old and well known locality and specimens of quartz from here, even though they tend not to be oddly shaped like gwindels or fadens, are considered classics of Alpine quartz for "normal" quartz style. This is simply a fine example, complete and 360 degrees all around. It has no damage. The large crystal is 10 cm (4 inches) tall. It was probably a modern find, and sold by Sieber & Sieber to Brent Lockhart in 2006 as he built his important Swiss collection up (which recently sold). The Sieber label is important to help confirm the location, as well as the fact that it was in Brent's well known Swiss-focus collection. It comes with a custom lucite base ($250 or so), already made and included for free.
