Item Description
A lovely association specimen featuring pseudo-hexagonal, bronze colored crystal group of Pyrrhotite measuring up to 2.0 associated with minor brown Siderite. The underside of the specimen features a bit of massive Sphalerite and Chalcopyrite for a nice touch. These are rare from the Herja Mine in this particular style/form, and we're used to seeing more of the "rose"-shaped Pyrrhotites from the more contemporary mining, but this one dates back much further, possibly in the mid 1800s. The piece is from the Paolo Matioli Collection
