Pyrrhotite with Galena, Calcite and Quartz

Here we have a showy Pyrrhotite specimen from the renowned Stari Trg Mine in the Trepca Complex in Kosovo. This locality is part of a large lead-zinc complex comprising over 40 individual mines, but the major producer of fine specimens is the Stari Trg Mine. This specimen hosts a "rose"-esque group of metallic, dark brassy colored crystals of Pyrrhotite, associated with silvery metallic Galena and thin prismatic Quartz crystals on the front, while the back is coated with a thin layer of tiny Calcite crystals. Very showy and presentable, it sits on its own without a base, and other than the bottom where it detached from the pocket wall, the piece is in superb condition.
