Item Description
Dal'negorsk mines have produced world-classic mixed sulfide specimens and this is a showy and excellent large example. Striking, sharp, lustrous, tabular, hexagonal pyrrhotite crystals to 4.7 cm with rich bronzey color are aesthetically scattered on the mounded matrix. A 3.5 cm, parallel-growth cluster of glassy, flattened, calcite rhombs is a super accent. The matrix also includes quartz, galena and chalcopyrite crystals. A trivial bit of bruising, along with the periphery wear are noted. A classic and excellent large pyrrhotite with accessories from the Nikolaevskiy Mine. Bright orange fluorescence on the calcite. Comes with a well-made, 5.1 cm, sloped wooden block label.
