Dalnegorsk is renowned for world-class sulfide specimens and this small cabinet piece is representative for this great locality. The lustrous, brass-brown, Pyrrhotite plates have stepped termiations which give them a disc-shaped habit. The largest is 2.6 cm across, and the major association is with highly lustrous, jet black Sphalerites that are stacked like poker chips. Adding to the aesthetics are clusters of sharp white Quartz crystals. The contrast in color with the sulphides is stark and attractive, and helps make this piece instantanly recognizable as being from the Dalnegorsk.
