Item Description
An exceptional and sculptural large combination from the historic mines at Trepca. Dramatic opposing parallel-growth clusters of moderately lustrous, bronzy pyrrhotite plates surround a striking deep "keyhole" cleft and look like a rose! The halo of glassy, translucent, oxide-tinted calcite rhombs is a superlative accent to this amazing piece. Tiny pyrites are also sprinkled on the piece, adding more character. The underlying matrix is sphalerite, pyrite and quartz. Rose-pink calcite fluorescence. A superb and amazingly aesthetic combination from and old collection. valued $1250-1500. SUPERB for this locality!
