Item Description

Intergrown, sharp, lustrous, bronzy-brown, hexagonal pyrrhotite crystals are dramatically accented by glassy, terminated quartz points on this excellent and aesthetic combination from the Art Soregaroli Collection. The Blue Bell Mine of British Columbia was a major lead-zinc producer in the province until its closing in 1971. This rare and very fine combination. There is an excellent article on this noted locale in the January-February, 1977 issue of the Mineralogical Record. "The specimen quality rivals other well-known localities such as Santa Eulalia, Mexico and Trepca, Yugoslavia." This choice piece probably dates to the late 1950s to early 1960s.
