Item Description

A showy and sculptural combination small cabinet from the historic mines at Trepca. Lustrous, bronzy, parallel-growth, hexagonal pyrrhotite plates compose the mounded matrix. Terminated quartz points, to 3.7 cm, are aesthetically scattered about. The pyrrhotites are peppered with numerous tiny corroded galena crystals and one 2 mm pyrite cube as additional fine accessories. Choice and classic combination material from the Dr. Barratt Phillips Collection and formerly in the A. Piotrowska & E. Kowalczyk Collection.
