Item Description

An outstanding, interesting and aesthetic small cabinet pyrrhotite and quartz combination from the famous Nikolaevskiy Mine at Dalnegorsk. A classic, striking 5.0 cm pseudo-hexagonal pyrrhotite is slightly offset due to tectonic forces, adding much character. The stacked crystal has bright luster that really accentuates the beautiful bronze-brown color. And the pyrrhotite is nicely set front and center on the sculptural quartz point matrix. Ex Kurt Hefendehl Collection. Dalnegorsk is renowned for world-class sulfides, calcite, fluorite and other species and this is a wonderfully artistic pyrrhotite and quartz combination. Pieces of this quality came out in the 1990s to early 2000s.
