Attractive and quite imposing specimen consisting of thick plates of Pyrrhotite. The well-formed and sharp Pyrrhotite crystals are up to an amazing 1.7 cm thick. They are brassy yellow with an iridescent patina, and are, of course, magnetic. There are a few sharp Calcite cystals on the piece, giving it a nice accent. An important specimen from a very famous locality. Originally priced at $2,500 many years ago in the heyday of this locale! It remains a significant piece today, and we value it near $5000.
