Pyrrhotite specimens are EXTREMELY RARE from any of the numerous Idaho localities the species is reported from. This really cute combination miniature from the Miller Calcite Collection features a well-placed, lustrous, bronzy, pseudohexagonal pyrrhotite crystal on massive pyrrhotite matrix with two nifty clusters of colorless, nailhead calcite crystals accented with a bed of tiny iron oxide-included quartz points. The calcite fluoresces pink-red. Possibly from the South Mountain Mine, Owyhee County.
