Item Description
OLD MATERIAL -A very showy and very unusual looking combination specimen from Santa Eulalia. A 2.2 cm, classic, sharp, brassy, layered pyrrhotite crystal is jauntily set between two, large and unusual calcite rhombs. Both terminations of the pyrrhotite have mirror-bright luster! The glassy, colorless, rhombs (look at the base) have a weird-looking coating of bladed, crinkle-look, light brown iron oxides. Preferentially coating some of the rhomb faces and nearby areas are TWO more generations of calcite, colorless, intergrown flattened disks and blocky, cream-colored rhombs. The aesthetic combination form and unusual coating make for a striking and excellent Santa Eulalia speicmen. Ex Dick Heck Collection..
