Pyroxmangite with Alleghanyite (ex Rich Kosnar Collection)

Pyroxmangite is a fairly simple, yet fairly rare Manganese Silicate which is rarely found in such rich specimens as the Sunnyside mine in Colorado. This piece is an incredibly rich massive of INTENSE pink Pyroxmangite with minor brownish Alleghanyite. This piece is rather rich for the material, and the color is about as dark as it gets from this mine. Although it is massive Pyroxmangite, there's more of it on this piece, than the majority of crystallized specimens I have seen combined. For a long time, this material was thought to be Rhodonite, but this is not the case. Considering that Pyroxmangite is even more rare than Rhodonite, I think this is a wonderful opportunity to buy a superb sample of this hard to find material from a now defunct San Juan locality.
